Reporting and budgeting are basic corporate decision-making activities. Typically group processes, each company’s procedures reflect its unique activities and organizational history. These activities are designed, corrected and refined from year to year, reflecting the best thinking of the company’s management team.
Because such unique processes are hard to generalize, packaged software has limited usefulness; Vector Space works side by side with the clients’ budgeting and reporting staff to create systems that closely fit the specialized requirements of each company.
In the initial stages, Vector Space usually does a fair amount of “heavy lifting” to get the systems started. But as the project proceeds, client staff typically takes on a growing amount of the implementation work to the point where consulting becomes superfluous, or strictly at an advisory level.
